Who We Are
The Amherst Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is a local, Bible-focused faith community serving the Amherst area of Nova Scotia. We are ordinary people from different walks of life, united by a shared commitment to Scripture and a desire to live by what we believe.
Our Identity
A Local Congregation with Deep Roots in the Community
Jehovah's Witnesses have been present in the Amherst area for decades, quietly serving the community through personal Bible education, acts of neighbour-kindness, and regular congregational meetings held at the Kingdom Hall on Rosewood Drive.
Our congregation is part of a worldwide brotherhood of Jehovah's Witnesses — one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse peaceful communities on earth — yet our identity remains deeply local. We are your neighbours, your coworkers, and the people you pass on Cumberland Street every day.
Membership in the congregation is open to anyone willing to learn and live by Bible principles. No social status, background, or previous religious experience is required.

Honest, Bible-Based Teaching
We do not rely on creeds, traditions, or the opinions of clergy. All teaching in our congregation is drawn directly from Scripture, shared openly, and always open to personal study and verification by anyone who seeks to understand it.
Practical Care for People
Members look out for one another — helping elderly neighbours, supporting families through difficulty, and checking in on those who are isolated. This practical care extends into the wider Amherst community as well.
Our Meeting Location
Kingdom Hall — 35 Rosewood Drive, Amherst
All congregation meetings take place at our Kingdom Hall on Rosewood Drive. The building is plainly furnished, accessible, and designed entirely for worship — there is no gift shop, café, or commercial activity of any kind on the premises.
